Lets Start

I mentioned my new blog to a cousin, and one of the questions he asked. Why does the same space character always come up? That same little guy, no sex, big dark eyes, non-intimidating, and grey. Most of the people that do claim to have had an extraterrestrial encounter don’t vary too much from the standard. I never as far as I know had an encounter.

I have seen some strange visual effects that I could explain away very easily. One was a meteor that bounced off the upper atmosphere one night. The other was a metallic high elevation plane that mimicked a UFO by speeding away at a extreme rate of speed. I have seen many mirages’ in the southwest in the winter and summer. Mirages can magnify, stretch and bend objects around corners. At extreme low temperatures extremely large trees can be seen on horizons that can’t be seen on other wise normal days. I’ve seen mountains float above blue sky, lakes and cities in the distance. Atmosphere condition makes all the difference and having a little imagination doesn’t hurt if you want to see UFOs. However we need to have a little common sense to evaluate what we see.

Do I believe in UFOs? Sure I don’t know everything. Do I know where they come from? Surely, some come from an over active imagination. Until I meet an alien from another planet, I’ll reserve my judgment of others as odd, misinformed or just plain people that want attention.

I want attention too. but it’s a monetary interest only. So if you want to send me money for just the sake of giving it away let me know. This way I don’t have make up a crackpot story that can’t hold up in the long run. Send to my pay-pal account. Or at the very least use my links. I’ll spend it on a real nice computer.

I do admit that there may be a few people that are truly sincere about extraterrestrial encounters of the third kind. I really don’t dispute their claims. I just want to evaluate the aliens everyone claims to have seen. I don’t claim to understand the difficulties of traveling in space but would like to think about the existence of space beings traveling in space for millions of years. On this date starting on September 17, 2006 I’m going to try creating an alien with out a bible, knowledge or preconception of a previously created alien. I can say first hand that I believe they may be very similar.

If I could imagine what kind of problems an alien would need to overcome the list would truly be monumental. I would need to use some imagination and invent my alien as being from earth but from a very early time. A time that was, from before fireball earth. Scientists believe earth was destroyed buy large meteors many times and since then many extinctions’. Fireball earth could have destroyed all evidence of earlier civilizations and my alien civilization may not have populated earth to the extent of the human race. When the earths crust became molten rock what evidence could survive?

Let’s imagine a world not known but very similar. Their origin world may be our home planet earth or imagine a world millions of light years away. Because they have existed in space for so long it has become more comfortable to stay in space and not try to populate any new planet. Why would they want to have war? If a problem of arises they just build another ship and travel separately or in different directions.

The aliens exist to do research because understanding is the only means for survival. They have no war because survival and sharing information is the only way to exist in space. They feel that any society that can’t share new information for existence in space has no purpose in their society. Contact with man or this planet would be a waste of time and energy. Like ants or bees they work diligently for research and research fuels all other needs. They have one goal and the main goal is to maintain their hive. I don’t think they would be insects but would need a hive like drive to maintain their society.

An intelligent alien is a must, because we all know that they need to be able to invent and develop products to maintain their lives. A large brain would be a must but I don’t think the ability to read minds and convey thoughts like in some Science Fiction movie is necessary.

Communication could be sound or could be facial expressions or hand signs. The sound could be at frequencies beyond our hearing capabilities. However the frequency may affect the brain enough at a rudimentary understanding, that idea may be possible. The basics, like extreme fear, relaxation, sleep and other instinct feelings could be controlled by non audible sound. If music can calm the savage beast why can’t sound control extreme relaxation. (I once had a girlfriend, when she talked, it took five minutes over the phone, and I’d fall asleep. This is why, I can say, “Had a girlfriend”.) However my woman problems are not the subject.

How would we create a designer space traveler? It a question of morality vs. science. Should we manipulate the human genome, should we start from scratch, or should we start from an lower form animal and control it’s evolution by introducing new gene clusters, turning on or off certain sequences, and driving the subjects evolution in a direction that we can use.

1. If we start with a human and manipulate the subject’s genome to tolerate space travel, religion and human rights may prevent us from accomplishing the goal. The reproductive cycle would also be to slow.
2. Starting from scratch may take to long and cost too much.
3. If we start from a lower life form that can reproduce at a relatively fast cycle. Possibly a generation every few months.

I like picking a lower life form that already has an ability to tolerate a space environment to a certain extent. Increase and improve the subject to better accomplish our needs.

1. Increase brain power only enough to accomplish complex instructions.
2. Should be able to at least squat and use hands with the dexterity of human hands.
3. Enough strength to manipulate tools in space for building, repairs and rock mining.
Easy to clone.

Cloning in space is relevant because the need to reproduce on a short cycle is truly important. Breeding can become a problem because the cost of reproducing by chance can waste important resources. One percent of naturally produced space travelers may be used as a viable resource for travel and the other 99% may not be useful enough or so defective may not even survive long enough to make that determination. Cloning removes the chance factor and the population control is also good. Another argument can be made by allowing natural reproduction can provide a food source for the viable population. Cannibalism may be the only means of survival for the main population.

Seems like a unattainable goal, but I feel this would be easier than creation of worm holes and Star Trek like space ships on a technology that may be impossible. Star Trek is fantasy so far. Man living in space for generations without the tools of the Trek series may be unattainable. Maybe some day we can travel like in Dune or create ships that humans can travel for years without harmful effects. For now we are incapable to survive on long or even short trips in space. We are not capable to mentally or physically prepare for space. I believe we can build in space, but we need help to overcome our limitations.

Rules to my design of Alien

How would I start to design my own personal alien? I guess, I would determine the problems.

  1. Weightlessness.
  2. Distances that may far excide a normal life span.
  3. Limitation of speed. Based on known science. Nothing can travel half the speed of light. I believe we can travel as fast as light but we need to avoid obstacles and this would limit our speed. Traveling light speed would blind the travelers. They would have to stop or slow down to decide directions to avoid obstacles that may appear in route capable of destroying our space ship.
  4. Extreme temperatures.
  5. Extreme radiation.
  6. No limitation for size of transport.
  7. Fuel limits. Fuel & Food must be collected or grown in route.
  8. Light extremes. (Dark to Extremely Bright)
  9. Building, construction or repair must be completed by the travelers. This includes mining for building materials in space.
  10. Reproduction of occupants must be in route.
  11. Size and number of occupants is dependant on available space and food without help from outside source.

These are my rules that direct the design of my space alien. I may add more later as the need arises.

Just for fun Designing my own Alien.

I'm a extreme Sci-Fi fan. Thinking about the possibility of alien life on worlds other than earth is and has been a topic of fascination for many people. I've never seen a UFO and probably never will, but I do think there is life on other planets, somewhere.

What would others think what a alien would look like. Some folks ideas may be a little far fetched but think on the subject a little based on what we know about space and space travel.

I'm opening this subject to all interested parties. Lets have fun. You can visit my web site at Nada Ranch Traders.
